Realising the pressing need for trained nurses for the expanding health care systems at both regional and national levels, Rabindranath Tagore University established a full-fledged Institute of Nursing in 2016 under the faculty of Nursing. It offers a three-year diploma programme (GNM), an eight-semester degree programme (B.Sc. Nursing), a two-year postgraduate programme (Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing), and a Ph.D. doctorate degree. The postgraduate programme, i.e., the M.Sc. (Nursing) programme, has the following specialisations: medical surgical nursing, Community Health Nursing, paediatric Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, and obstetrics and gynaecological nursing.
