Rabindranath Tagore University believes that the end objective of education is not only self-actualisation but also social empowerment. The university has adopted three nearby villages as its social laboratory. Periodical health camps, educational sessions, cleaning sessions etc are organised in these villages.

Pray for all Pray for Nepal (29 May 2016)

The Students Activity Council (SAC) of Rabindranath Tagore University organized the campaign ‘Pray for all, pray for Nepal’ for helping the earth quake victims of Nepal. A painting exhibition by university students Shishir Sarathe and Jatin got a lot of appreciation. Events like Solo Dance, Solo Singing, and Painting etc. were organized and people participated in large numbers. The enthusiasm of the students inspired the youth as well as their parents to participate in the events and a large audience cheered all along.

Free Training Session on ‘Office Automation & Electrician Trade’ (11th July 2015)

Rabindranath Tagore University conducted free training session on ‘Office Automation and Electrician Trade’ at Noorganj, District Raisen. During the programme, trainer Ayushman Chouhan explained the use of online office, information gathering, data merging, excel filters, PPT making, resume making, hardware sharing, general data on cloud network and other practical knowledge of computer to the youngsters. Another trainer Jitendra Ahirwar informed about repairing of home appliances. Participants of this training were also awarded certificates.

AISECT University Students Visited Digdarshika NGO (4 Nov 2015)

50 students of Rabindranath Tagore University visited Digdarshika NGO. In this NGO mentally retarded people prepared colour for Holi and decorative items for festivals. Students learnt the process of making different items. Students purchased items from them and celebrated Diwali.

National Services Scheme (NSS) ACTIVITIES

In the first year of establishment of NSS, students have shown keen interest in various activities. NSS is very popular with nearby villages where NSS members frequently conduct numerous activities.

Foundation Day of NSS

On 24 Sept 2015 NSS wing celebrated first foundation day of NSS. Dr. Rekha Gupta and Dr. Jaya Sharma are the university officers of NSS who are a big motivation for students. Dr. AK Saxena Coordinator NSS, BU Bhopal and trainer Dr. Rahul Singh Parihar gave details of activities. On this occasion patriotic songs, drama and dance were presented by NSS members. Plantation drive and Rally was organized by NSS members with the message of “Kaam Na Chalta Bato Se, Kaam Kare Dono Haatho Se”.

Seven Days NSS Camp (1st Nov to 7th Nov 2015)

A seven days camp of NSS to spread awareness about health check-up, cleanliness and health, under the aegis of Rabindranath Tagore University was conducted in village Mendua. As many as 60 students of NSS Unit of the University took part in the camp. The students learnt project work and also conducted medical check-up of children in villages and health hygiene during the camp. The students were given tips on personality development by Anish Saxena. Their work was commended by villagers, Sarpanch and School teachers.

RabindraNath Tagore University Students Celebrated Children’s Day & New Year with Orphan Kids

The students of National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Rabindranath Tagore University celebrated Children’s Day and New Year amidst orphan children at Mother Teresa Ashram. A group of students, led by NSS Officer Dr. Rekha Gupta & Dr. Jaya Sharma, visited the Ashram. The students sang songs and encouraged the children there. They were presented health drinks, Chocolate, Bournvita and Fruits as gifts.

National Cadet Corps (NCC) ACTIVITIES

NCC Naval Wing is operative in the university. Mr. Manoj Manral is NCC officer. Under the guidance of Mr. Manoj NCC Cadets of university participated in RDC parade and selected in NCC National Games since 2 years.

Republic Day Camp Parade

CC cadets K. Girija Kumari and Pradeep Jatav participated in Republic Day Parade at New Delhi on 26th January 2016. K. Girija Kumari was selected for Youth Exchange program (YEP). Pradeep Jatav has been selected in All India Ship Modeling in which he displayed project ‘INS Khukhri’. He also bagged PM Rally medal and 7 corner medal which is being given to best performer. Mr. Ashish Prasad was one of the proud selections among the contingent chosen from over 1.5 lakh NCC students from MP & CG for Republic Day Parade last year. He also received prize in All India Ship Modeling where he built a model of ‘INS Virat’.

Participation in NCC National Games NCC Naval wing cadet Rishabh Singh was selected for NCC National Games. He bagged Silver Medal in 400-meter relay race and Bronze Medal in shot put.

National level Ship Attachment Camp on INS JALSWA

NCC Naval wing cadet Rishabh Singh was selected for Ship attachment camp which was conducted on INS JALSWA. Cadet Rishabh got certificate of national level for knowing all kind of activities of Navy on INS JALSWA.
